THE ROLE: Sensus, a Xylem brand, seeks to hire a Senior Product Manager in support of our global smart outdoor lighting market focus. As a member of the Lighting Solutions Marketing group, he/she will capture customer and market solution requirements, define new products and solutions for this market, and drive these solutions to commercial launch in order to establish Sensus as the leader in smart outdoor lighting markets. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, fluid environment, and will help create and execute a product vision for this quickly developing market. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Accountability for the product roadmap for the VantagePoint Smart Lighting Solution for the global marketplace Defining and prioritizing the development of new application software features and new product form factors Resolve product issues and drive sustaining efforts to optimize the profitability of the solutions and their market success Coordinate and drive the necessary new product launches into the marketplace, through successful customer beta programs Developing, supporting, and helping deliver product training materials for our internal and external customers Supporting the creation of product marketing collateral and customer-facing marketing materials MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Technical background and training (engineering degree preferred) Experience with solutions that may include any or all of the following: hardware, firmware, software, and RF wireless elements Experience developing product roadmaps, and commercial launches of solutions PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in smart outdoor lighting markets, either fixtures or smart controls Experience with and knowledge of RF wireless products and networks Experience in defining channel and market approaches MBA and/or sales experience highly valued Experience with selling engineered solutions to the Utility market (electric, gas, or water) or to Municipalities PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Light lifting (20-25 lbs.), office environment Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend and move about the facility Regularly required to listen, talk to, and see employees on a daily basis. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office: Standard office equipment; work usually performed in an office setting free from any disagreeable elements. Standard weekly job hours: 40 hours The role will require occasional travel to meet with customers and also participate in trade conferences; expected 15-20% travel
