This role develops policy recommendations to further the BCBS mission and drive solutions. It involves analyzing legislative and regulatory initiatives at federal and state levels, building consensus, preparing formal comments, and working closely with leadership to develop strategies. The role supports policies on prescription drugs and healthcare affordability. Primary Job Functions: Supports development of effective policy recommendations to promote BCBS objectives at state and federal levels. Reviews legislation and regulations, develops advocacy documents, and provides policy support. Manages projects within focus areas, develops comment letters, and educational materials. Leads workgroup calls, communicates key activities, and participates in cross-departmental meetings. Maintains awareness of legislative and regulatory positions and provides policy support to State Affairs team. Collaborates with internal teams and external stakeholders, including federal policymakers. Education and Experience: Required: Bachelor's Degree Preferred: Master's Degree Required: Five+ years of relevant work experience. Preferred: Experience in health equity, Medicare/Medicaid issues, health insurance contracts, prescription drug policy, healthcare affordability, health IT, or related policy analysis. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Understanding of healthcare systems and policymaking processes. Effective communication skills, both oral and written. Strong planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Experience with policy writing and legislative processes. Ability to develop relationships and influence outcomes. Excellent time management and prioritization skills. Financial Responsibilities:
