The Role: As
Project Director , you will be the senior leader responsible for full project lifecycle execution across some of the largest TxDOT Design-Build projects in the state. You will oversee joint venture coordination, design integration, construction execution, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning while maintaining direct communication with both internal executive teams and external client representatives. Reporting to executive leadership, you’ll be supported by a highly experienced staff, robust systems, and best-in-class resources. Key Responsibilities: Direct all phases of Design-Build highway/bridge projects, from pursuit to final completion. Lead large scale DOT governance, partner coordination, and contractual execution. Manage project controls, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling (Primavera P6), and risk mitigation strategies. Maintain key relationships with TxDOT and major stakeholders, ensuring consistent communication and performance alignment. Drive technical excellence in both design and field execution. Mentor and develop high-performing teams across engineering, construction, and project management. Ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards. Act as the primary executive interface for all major project stakeholders. What We’re Looking For: 8+ years of experience managing large DOT infrastructure projects, ideally over $250M in value. Proven leadership on complex Design-Build and joint venture projects (TxDOT experience strongly preferred). Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field. Strong technical acumen, especially in structural and roadway scopes. Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience working for a top-tier self-performing general contractor. Willingness to travel or relocate within Texas based on project needs. Seniority level
