Position Description Oversee and direct preconstruction, engineering, and field installation of all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) systems. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with engineers, design consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and owner’s representatives to ensure project alignment with client goals from initiation to completion. Thorough understanding of contract documents including Turner’s contracts, plans, specifications, and applicable codes. Lead, supervise, and develop Turner MEP staff, including performance appraisals. Oversee daily activities of Engineer-MEP, Superintendent-MEP, and team members. Manage procurement, project budgets, quality, safety, engineering, coordination, scheduling, installation, commissioning, and project close-out processes. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in Mechanical and Electrical systems design, cost, sequencing, logistics, and field installations, or equivalent training and experience. Ability to identify design features impacting costs and suggest alternatives. LEED accreditation is preferred. Strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with project management software are required. Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills are essential. Physical Demands and Work Environment The role requires physical ability to climb stairs, ladders, operate construction hoists, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. The work environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and chemicals, with moderate noise levels. Reasonable accommodations will be provided as needed.
