Program Director/Academic Dean The Program Director provides effective leadership in developing, conducting, and ongoing assessment of the clinical education program. Responsibilities include managing clinical activities such as organizing, developing, and administering the clinical curriculum; planning for, acquiring, and communicating with clinical sites; ensuring supervision and assessment of students; and evaluating the overall effectiveness of clinical training. The Director will also undertake administrative duties, teaching, student recruitment, retention, and support. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field (Master's preferred). Minimum of four years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including at least two years in clinical respiratory care. Current and valid RRT credential and state license. At least two years of teaching experience in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor. Completion of the CoARC Key Personnel Training Program, knowledge of accreditation standards, strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in instructional technology. Responsibilities Clinical Education and Supervision
Manage clinical activities, including curriculum organization and development, planning, and communication with clinical sites. Ensure supervision and assessment of students at clinical sites and coordinate clinical education with didactic and laboratory activities. Work with employer representatives and clinical site supervisors to include clinical instructors and preceptors in the training program. Curriculum Development and Evaluation
Collaborate with faculty to develop and review the curriculum, ensuring it meets industry standards. Monitor curriculum effectiveness and incorporate emerging trends in respiratory therapy education. Collaborate with the Medical Director to ensure clinical instruction meets current practice guidelines. Faculty and Staff Supervision
Support faculty in curriculum delivery and student assessment. Be available to students and faculty during clinical coursework. Clinical Affiliations and Industry Partnerships
Establish and maintain relationships with clinical sites and healthcare facilities. Foster industry partnerships to stay informed about advancements and employment opportunities. Student Recruitment and Support
Participate in recruitment efforts and develop strategies to support student retention and success. Maintain regular contact with students, faculty, and clinical partners, providing guidance and support. Program Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
