General Statement of Duties
Plans and directs installation, maintenance and repair for domestic, waste, and storm lines. Maintains records and as-built drawings for all in-house projects. Provides for compliance with the BOCA Code and applicable local ordinances. Plans, directs, and inspects the work of all plumbers. Obtains permits as required.
Essential Duties
• Supervises and trains plumbers and maintenance staff in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems
• Assigns daily work to plumbers and maintains a daily log of assignments
• Oversees work of plumbers as to quality and progress
• Maintains records, repair reports, as-built drawings, etc., of tasks completed
• Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Certified Master Plumber. High school or trade school graduate. Five years' experience in the plumbing trade, two years of which have been in a supervisory role. Possession of a valid Virginia Motor Vehicle Operator's license. Extensive knowledge of the plumbing trade, required codes, standard practices, tools and material. Ability to read blueprints and specifications for plumbing work. Good physical condition required. Ability to work at high altitudes using scaffolds, ladders, etc
Additional Information
This is a 12-month (260 days) position for the 2025-26 school year. Open until filled. Minimum salary is $57,001.28 (27.40 hourly) or based on promotion policy for internal candidates. This position is at the Facilities complex.
