The Business Development Manager is a dynamic fundraiser who leads workplace giving efforts, cultivates corporate donations, and strengthens community engagement for Aloha United Way on Oʻahu. As a key relationship builder and ambassador of AUW’s mission, this individual develops and executes strategies to engage donors and partners through in-person meetings, campaign presentations, rallies, and other community-facing activities. Managing a portfolio of corporate accounts, the Manager partners with company coordinators, employees, and volunteers to maximize participation and support. The role demands initiative, adaptability, and a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. This team member also contributes to long-term sustainability by implementing creative approaches that foster a culture of gratitude and continued growth. You’ll be supported by engaged leadership and a collaborative team, working together to achieve fundraising goals and deliver meaningful donor experiences. A history of successful fundraising and robust network within Oahu’s business and professional community is essential to building and sustaining the relationships that power our mission. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Leads and manages a portfolio of workplace campaigns and corporate partnerships, executing strategies to increase giving, drive donor engagement, and strengthen AUW’s presence across sectors and industries on Oʻahu. • Cultivates and stewards relationships with company leaders, campaign coordinators, and employees to foster long-term engagement and philanthropic support, including leading campaign kickoffs, educational presentations, and donor events. • Implements and supports technology-driven fundraising efforts, promoting the transition to digital platforms and ensuring accuracy and consistency in data entry, reporting, and donor tracking through CRM systems. • Collaborates cross-functionally with internal departments, including Marketing, Finance, and Programs, to align campaign messaging, coordinate logistics, and support donor stewardship efforts that reinforce AUW’s mission and community impact. • Identifies trends, opportunities, and barriers to giving; recommends strategies to improve campaign performance and donor retention based on forecasting, reporting, and post-campaign evaluations. • Assists in the development of new or enhanced partnerships through strategic outreach, in-person meetings, and multi-channel communication to expand AUW’s reach and influence in the business and civic communities. • Provides excellent customer service and donor support, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally. • Participates in AUW events and public engagements, including campaign rallies, community celebrations, and special events, occasionally outside of normal business hours. • Maintains detailed records and documentation, regularly tracking performance and progress toward individual and team fundraising goals. • Contributes to a collaborative team culture, mentoring colleagues as needed, supporting shared goals, and actively participating in team-related activities and professional • Performs other duties as assigned, including administrative tasks, materials delivery (up to 25 pounds), and representing AUW at workplace and community sites across Oʻahu. Preferred Qualifications Skills/Knowledge • Proven fundraising experience with strong relationship management and communication skills. • Skilled in public speaking and presenting to diverse audiences in both virtual and inperson settings. • Ability to interpret data, set goals, and drive performance using key fundraising metrics and CRM tools. • Experience in using donor platforms and fundraising software; ability to recommend best practices. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills. • Collaborative, coachable, and driven by a growth mindset. • Experience working with or managing volunteers, corporate partners, or community stakeholders. Education/Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field required. • MBA or equivalent experience in fundraising, development services, or nonprofit • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising, business development, or related field. • Experience using donor CRMs and managing multiple accounts simultaneously. • Supervisory or mentorship experience preferred. • Demonstrated experience working in diverse, community-based environments. Required Qualifications • Must be authorized to work in the United States • Must have a car to drive for the job and have drivers’ insurance. (Only for Resource • Development positions).
