Chief Operating Officer Neulife Rehabilitation of Florida (NLRL) provides post-acute rehabilitation and residential services for individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Spinal Cord Injuries, and Neurological Disorders. Summary:
The Executive Director is the key leadership position at NLRL, responsible for overall management, supervision, health, and performance of the organization. This role involves designing and executing the integrated sales and marketing strategies, leading organic business development, and shaping organizational culture. The Executive Director manages daily operations, understands and manages Census and Utilization to optimize quality of care and revenue, and collaborates with the COO for strategic planning and reporting. Responsibilities: Develop and implement organizational philosophies, policies, and a 2-year strategic plan in collaboration with the COO. Lead budget development, growth strategies, billing rates, and fee schedules with the COO. Build partnerships with stakeholders, shareholders, regulators, and the community. Manage, oversee, and mentor department heads. Maintain strong relationships with patients and their families, demonstrating empathy and care. Act as liaison with licensure, accreditation bodies, and funding sources for billing and contracting. Ensure compliance with all regulations at local, state, and federal levels. Work nonstandard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed. Develop policies, standards, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives. Establish and lead committees such as safety, quality, and infection control. Design the organizational structure for effective daily operations. Ensure staff behavior aligns with organizational values, policies, and guidelines. Identify opportunities for expansion, market development, and industry standards. Manage revenue and expenses to meet budget goals. Participate in industry associations and community outreach for brand awareness. Uphold integrity, ethical standards, and serve as a role model. Develop leadership talent, succession plans, and a positive work environment. Implement policies to ensure compliance with Florida regulations and corporate policies. Execute sales, marketing, and organic growth plans. Identify risks and opportunities to safeguard business interests. Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team. Foster a transparent, collaborative organizational culture. Lead performance management and employee engagement initiatives. Ensure achievement of key performance objectives. Maintain records, incident reports, licenses, and inspection documentation. Investigate and report incidents, violations, or suspected mistreatment. Report inspections, inquiries, and legal matters promptly to COO and corporate team. Provide weekly financial and operational updates to COO. Ensure HR policies, EEOC laws, and employment standards are followed. Oversee staff compliance and disciplinary procedures. Perform other duties as assigned, recognizing this is not an exhaustive list. Qualifications: Experience working with individuals with brain or spinal cord injuries preferred. Understanding of clinical and business operations. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in acute healthcare preferred. Must pass level 2 criminal background check. Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Human Services, Business, or equivalent experience; LPN license preferred. At least five years of management experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook. Excellent communication skills. Must be screened for TB and CPR certified. Physical Requirements: Ability to remain stationary for long periods, walk and stand for extended durations, operate office machinery, and lift objects up to 50 pounds. Willingness to travel 25% of the time.
