Business Intelligence Data Engineer
to join our Business Intelligence (BI) team. The BI team collaborates across departments to deliver data, analytics, and reporting solutions. Your role will be vital in creating and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports Klaviyo’s business, particularly overseeing backend data models for centralized metrics and reports used company-wide.

Snowflake, Airflow, dbt
Fivetran, Airbyte, Workato
ThoughtSpot, Tableau, dbt metrics
AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, Athena, DynamoDB), Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker
How You Will Make a Difference:
Develop and maintain the “source of truth” data environment for business health metrics.
Work with petabyte-scale databases optimized for analytics.
Create data models supporting predictive recommendations, marketing attribution, and financial forecasts.
Collaborate with teams across Finance, Go-To-Market, Engineering, Customer Success, Support, Product, Sales, and Marketing.
Build a self-service data environment accessible to all employees.
Who You Are: You are a creator who understands the importance of a well-designed data environment. You grasp business problems and can create, transform, and store data to address them. You are systematic, creative, and collaborative, always seeking the best solutions to business challenges.
2-5 years of experience in SQL and 1+ years in object-oriented programming (e.g., Python).
Experience in database design, 3NF, dimensional modeling, or star schema.
Knowledge of Big Data technologies (Snowflake, Databricks/Spark, Trino).
1+ years of data modeling experience with dbt.
Experience building data pipelines supporting business operations with reverse ETL tools.
Familiarity with reporting tools like Tableau, Looker, or ThoughtSpot.
Comfort with large volumes of semi-structured data.
Knowledge of data engineering best practices (discovery, documentation, deployment, security).
Masters or equivalent experience in Data Engineering or related field.
