Your Role:

The

Procurement Manager

is responsible for Avid Bioservice’s site Procurement Operations. This leader will have full accountability to lead sourcing and purchasing activities for Avid’s operations. This role is critical in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of scientific equipment, laboratory supplies, raw materials, and services that meet Avid’s quality and regulatory standards. This includes the end-to-end procurement process and the Material Requirements Plan architecture build in our Planning and Scheduling systems. This position is responsible for having the right materials, released and available at the correct time to the correct specification to support the production schedule.

Provide visible leadership to the organization that will instill operational best practices, team-oriented work environment and productive results to the organization. Drive collaboration and engagement with our cross-functional internal partners. Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with Avid’s goals and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO). Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers of laboratory equipment, reagents, consumables, and contract services. Manage vendor relationships, including performance monitoring, contract negotiation, and issue resolution. Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to forecast demand and ensure uninterrupted supply. Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier certifications. Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and risk mitigation. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, including GMP and GLP standards. Lead procurement-related audits and support supplier qualification processes. Implement and manage procurement software or ERP systems to streamline purchasing workflows. Build & foster strategic supplier relationships creating plans for alternative sources. Identify areas of improvement as Avid continues to grow and expand its operational footprint, including the implementation of new software or equipment. Apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve systems issues to maximize the benefit of system investments. Minimum Qualifications:

Strong Leadership skills to drive change, motivate Supply Chain and cross-functional teams and provide strategic vision that prepares Avid for future growth. Supervisory experience leading a team. Certification in supply chain or procurement (e.g., CPSM, CPIM). Positive, customer service-oriented skills and behavior. Experience working in a startup or fast-paced biopharma environment. Knowledge of sustainability and ethical sourcing practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required for discussing complex business processes. Ability to coordinate, facilitate and organize resources. Well organized with the ability to handle multiple activities simultaneously. Detail oriented and accurate. Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, life sciences, or a related field. 5+ years of procurement experience, preferably in the biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry. Strong knowledge of sourcing scientific and laboratory materials. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, D365). Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills. Familiarity with regulatory environments (FDA, ISO, GMP, GLP). Experience with ERP systems and various data entry requirements. Experience with Good Manufacturing / Good Documentation Practices. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This role is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday, unless otherwise stated by Supervisor. The employee must also, if instructed, have the ability to work overtime and/or weekends when necessary.

Compensation:

We offer competitive compensation packages for this role, including a base salary, performance-based bonuses, and comprehensive benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.The compensation range for this role is $107,300 to $143,000 annually depending on experience and qualifications.
