TheMorristown Housing Authority (MHA) is seeking a dedicated, experienced andqualified professional applicant for the position of Executive Director toreplace the retiring Executive Director.
The qualified individual will be aproven leader with a progressive career in affordable housing management. Theywill be highly innovative with the ability to develop housing and fundingsources, optimize capital and housing expenditures and maintain full compliancewith all programmatic regulations and funding sources. Under the generaldirection of a 5-member Board of Commissioners, the Executive Director willassume full responsibility for the MHA services and activities includingmanagement of the overall operations and staffing of the Housing Authority aswell as planning, directing and implementing all policies, programs andservices.
The Executive Director will advise andassist the Board of Commissioners and will represent the organization beforethe public, the media, governmental entities and other parties. The ExecutiveDirector will provide effective leadership to 26 staff members, whileimplementing the strategic plan, vision and mission of the organization. Theportfolio and budget of MHA includes 672 public housing units, 424 housingchoice vouchers, 4 Home Grant units and $6 million in operating funding.
The candidate is required to possessthe following minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration,Public Administration, Financial Management, or a related field, or qualifiedexperience.
Significant experience working with affordablehousing programs, community development, and public administration with aminimum of five years of progressively responsible supervisory experience of 10(or more) staff.
Significant experience working with affordablehousing and community development in relation to local, state and federalgrants.
Experience with HUD’s Rental AssistanceDemonstration (RAD) Conversion Program
Experience with Project Based Rental Assistance(PBRA)
Experience with Section 8 Voucher Program andProject Based Vouchers (PBVs)
Experience with Low Income Housing Tax Credits(LIHTCs) securing and management.
Experience in creating and overseeing Redevelopmentinitiatives and asset management.
Inaddition, the candidate is preferred to possess qualifications related to:
Community Service experience with previousmembership roles and activities
Service of Special Needs population
Salary iscommensurate to the qualifications and experience of the selected candidates.
