Front Office Coordinator/Clinic Attendant

to work at our Berkeley TRUST clinic. The Front Office Coordinator/Clinic Attendant will work with a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of general primary care medical services in a community health setting. Under the supervision of the Center Director or Center Supervisor, the role involves ensuring efficient front office operations including reception, appointment scheduling, patient registration, check-in, telephone operation, financial eligibility, and lobby security. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position, working 40 hours per week in Berkeley. The position is represented by SEIU-UHW, with salaries and benefits governed by a collective bargaining agreement (CBA). Employees must remain members in good standing of SEIU-UHW. LifeLong Medical Care is a large, multi-site, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a history of providing healthcare and social services to a diverse community. Our patient-centered health home offers over 15 primary care centers delivering integrated services including psychosocial support, referrals, chronic disease management, dental, health education, and home visits. Benefits Compensation: $21 - $22/hour. Benefits include medical, dental, vision (including dependents and domestic partners), paid holidays, Flexible Spending Accounts, and a 403(b) retirement plan. ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Duties

Greet all patients and visitors warmly, providing positive customer service. Handle patient reception, registration, check-in, and appointment scheduling. Perform data entry, document and card scanning, and validation. Manage patient flow from front to back office. Answer phones, direct calls, and make follow-up calls. Distribute incoming correspondence and maintain the reception area. Maintain inventory of supplies and forms at the front desk. Generate correspondence as needed. Clinic Attendant Duties

Greet patients and visitors warmly, maintaining a calm environment. Provide de-escalation and handle medical or mental health emergencies. Interface with law enforcement during escalations. Ensure patient needs are met and reduce wait times. Manage patient shower schedules. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors. Qualifications

Strong organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; culturally sensitive. Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure. Team-oriented with professional conduct. Proactive attitude with environmental awareness for improvement opportunities. Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED. One year of experience in the medical field. Excellent customer service skills and confidentiality adherence. Proficiency in standard office software (Microsoft Office). Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in health science or related field. Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Practice Management Systems (EPM). Experience in community health centers. Additional Details
