Associate Professor or Professor, CS, Phase I/Developmental Therapeutics Clinical Trials Program Head The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and the University of Washington (UW) invite applications and nominations to lead the Phase I Developmental Therapeutics clinical trials program. The role involves a dual appointment: a primary faculty position in the Clinical Research Division at Fred Hutch and a secondary appointment in the UW Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology. The successful candidate will report to the SVP of the Clinical Research Division at Fred Hutch and the Division Head of Hematology and Oncology at UW. We seek a visionary leader to head our Phase I Developmental Therapeutics Program, focusing on innovative therapies for cancer patients. This role includes leading early-phase clinical trials, translating research into clinical practice, and partnering with Fred Hutch's immunotherapy and cell therapy teams. The Program Head will collaborate with researchers and industry partners to expand our Phase I program and advance our mission of delivering transformative cancer therapies. Responsibilities include designing and managing trials, overseeing trial selection, coordinating infrastructure, ensuring patient accrual, direct patient care, and outreach to community providers. The role may include a subspecialty clinic if relevant. The incumbent will organize, direct, and expand research efforts, mentor faculty, and support faculty recruitment. Appointments will be at the rank of associate or full professor at Fred Hutch and UW, with academic appointments based on experience. Opportunities for joint appointments across various Fred Hutch divisions are available. The position is primarily on-site at Fred Hutch, with about 30% clinical care and the rest research, teaching, and administrative duties. Fred Hutch is a leading cancer research and treatment center, committed to collaboration, innovation, and diversity. The position is funded by Fred Hutch, with no UW compensation. Compensation details are provided separately. Minimum qualifications include: MD/DO degree (or foreign equivalent) Board certification in medical oncology Eligibility for medical licensure in Washington Foreign graduates must demonstrate USMLE completion for visa sponsorship. Candidates should have a strong record in Phase I research, evidenced by publications, grants, or clinical trials.
