In addition, this position provides scholarship administration. Scholarship administration is supported through close collaboration between Advancement Services and Financial Aid & Scholarships, ensuring donor intent is honored through accurate fund coordination, student eligibility verification, and timely disbursement. The AVP will consult with executive team/management and administration on divisional strategy and accomplishing divisional objectives, as well as advise executive team/management on critical and sensitive issues. The incumbent will provide leadership support and coordinate, prepare, and submit required reports to the VP and other appropriate University Officials. Required Qualifications An earned bachelor’s or appropriate terminal degree from an accredited institution or professional equivalency, preferably in finance, budget management, investments, and operational oversight. 10 years' experience in accounting and finance, budget management, investments, and operational oversight. 5 years of experience in effective time and organizational management. Preferred Qualifications The chosen candidate should be collaborative, team-oriented, innovative, visionary, and should work effectively and supportively with various stakeholders. Strong communication, team building, and problem-solving capacity are strongly valued. Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures independently, using judgment and discretion to act when precedent does not exist. Ability to appropriately handle interpersonal interactions at all levels. Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality. Demonstrated experience with the multifaceted aspects of financial management in a not-for-profit organization, preferably with endowed funds. Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience. Evidence of the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external constituencies. Superior verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in using administrative computing systems, MS Office applications, and other relevant software applications. Ability to accommodate occasional business travel and occasional weekend, early morning, and evening hours. In-depth knowledge of financial benchmarking, FASB/GASB/GAAP accounting, audit and tax compliance, and other regulatory matters. Extensive experience in administration, accounting and/or finance, investments, budgets, leadership & management, human resources, and project management. Ability to build an effective team and maintain positive work relationships, on and off campus with populations from all backgrounds. Possess effective interpersonal communication skills to motivate and inspire staff, volunteers, donors, and others to reach maximum potential. Must be a creative and dynamic strategic thinker. Strong supervisory, management, and organizational skills. Ability to function on multiple tasks with self-motivation and initiative. Ability to develop solutions to complex problems requiring the use of ingenuity and creativity. Experience in fundraising and investor relations (preferred).
