Position Overview

The Director, Business Development will influence and execute business development strategy and foster new client relationships. This role advises local leadership on strategies to achieve revenue, growth, and diversification targets ensuring accountability for sales goals and business development activities.

Role & Responsibilities

Possesses strong market and AEC knowledge to identify and pursue the right targets Deeply understands macro trends that may affect the markets in which they are operating Identifies the right networks in alignment with strategic pursuits and clients; engages in events and coordinates efforts to engage other employees Utilizes broad network to connect people across Catamount Constructors and demonstrates a “One Company” approach to networking Role models what it means to be a pursuit “Quarterback” and organizes, motivates, and aligns operational team members, marketing, and preconstruction throughout a pursuit process Communicates effectively with all team members to ensure they have the right information at the right time as it relates to capture planning Maintains CRM and updates relevant data so that they (and others) can draw logical conclusions about current and future opportunities, wins, and backlog Uses data to draw insights into the types of clients and opportunities to pursue Measure and understand how the business unit is performing against plan and identifies strategies to fill gaps

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in business development; Commercial Construction experience is required Proven track record of developing and executing successful business development strategies Deep expertise and experience within the AEC industry, core markets and geographies in which this role will operate Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills Strong experience with CRM systems Regular travel may be required to maintain strong client + internal relationships and attend critical events as needed

Compensation

In addition to offering competitive base pay, Catamount employees are eligible for additional incentives for merit/performance, profit sharing, new hire referrals, and business development commissions.
