Purpose & Scope The primary purpose of this position is to lead the design, organization, workflow, and delivery of clinical care, providing clinical decision support across the physician services enterprise. This role collaborates with the Vice-President, Medical Affairs, the Systems, AVP Staff Development, and Division/Service Line Dyad Leaders to ensure a safe clinical environment, high-quality care, and an excellent patient experience. The focus is on system, process, and workflow efficiency and standardization.
Key Responsibilities
Work with nursing, medical assistants, and providers to develop competence, staff training, workflow, and process improvements to optimize patient care quality and safety.
Collaborate with departments such as Staff Development, Risk, Safety and Quality, Pharmacy, Infection Prevention, Laboratory Services, and others to ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards.
Coordinate with Medical Staff, Revenue Cycle, Facilities Management, IT&S, EPIC teams, etc., for provider transitions, new practice openings, or renovations.
Align and integrate the HOPD and medical group into VHC Health, supporting its mission and vision.
Education & Experience Requires an advanced clinical degree (Nursing, Advanced Practice Provider, or Rehabilitation Specialties). Minimum of 7 years clinical experience in ambulatory settings, with progressive leadership experience. Strong understanding of matrix organizations, strategic planning, risk assessment, and change management. Lean/Six Sigma certification (Green Belt preferred) is desirable.
Additional Qualifications
Excellent communication, judgment, decision-making, and relationship-building skills.
Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives and process improvements.
