Chappaqua CSD is seeking a thoughtful and knowledgeable educator and leader to serve as the Director of Special Education and 504 Services, beginning December 1, 2025. Under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of PPS, the Director will implement, administer, and maintain the district's special education and 504 programs, providing vision and direction aligned with district goals and legal compliance to foster a supportive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Assist in developing and managing the district's special education programs and 504 accommodations. Supervise CSE and 504 processes, including overseeing district CSE Chairpersons and chairing meetings as needed. Manage the annual budget, including grant applications and Medicaid reimbursement efforts. Collaborate with administrators and staff to support inclusive practices and effective implementation of accommodations. Oversee compliance with IDEA, Section 504, ADA, and other relevant laws, leading responses to audits and complaints. Supervise, observe, and evaluate staff. Review and coordinate outside placements, considering student return to district when appropriate. Maintain student records ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance. Work with building leaders on student placement into special education supports. Promote a district environment conducive to individualized instruction and collaborative curriculum development. Engage with students, parents, and staff regarding student needs. Assist with transportation issues related to special services. Stay informed of changes in laws and regulations affecting special education. Qualifications: Required: NYS SDL/SBL Certification. Preferred: Experience as a special education teacher or school psychologist. Salary:

Highly competitive between $200,000 and $220,000, commensurate with experience.
