VP Modernization Operations
located in
Atlanta, GA. TKE is on the hunt for a P&L leader who can revolutionize our Modernization business across North America on TKE’s Journey to One. As the Vice President of Modernization Operations, reporting directly to the COO, you'll play a pivotal role in driving our company's transformation. This is an exciting opportunity to dive into the fastest-growing segment of the elevator industry and make a tangible impact on safety, profitability, gross margin, and efficiency. Join us on our journey to reshape the future of TKE! ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Drives and supports a culture of safety and compliance throughout the organization in modernization operations. Includes acting as the face of safety and compliance to all employees; and strategically leading programs involving safety and compliance training, safety audits, and accident prevention. Drives focus on results by implementing improvements and changes as well as pushing through innovations to achieve best in class performance. Leads modernization operations for North America with an emphasis on exceeding business goals and proactively addressing weaknesses and risks within the modernization business. Regularly visits districts and branches to strategically review job fade. Conducts forecasts and trending analysis for projects, monitors AR, material estimate variances, bookings, and other items impacting working capital and EBIT. Reviews and participates in bids of large or complex modernization jobs to ensure profitability, attends bid presentations, and meets with consultants and building owners. Reviews and approves plans to control labor efficiency and customer service efficiency. Ensures all North America modernization operations run efficiently and cost-effectively. Includes strategic oversight of the modernization department’s performance and morale, and direct involvement with customer complaints when needed. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all federal, state, and local elevator industry code requirements. Maintains strong familiarity with company products by attending company training classes and reviewing factory equipment updates and supplier goods. Who we are looking for
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Requires 10 to 15 years of operational elevator and construction experience, and experience with modernization product line. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Must be very well organized, have a high energy level, strong work ethic, acute attention to detail and be very process-oriented. Must be motivated, goal-oriented, and proactive. Ability to identify, own, understand, supervise, and delegate to ensure accurate completion under strict timelines with minimal guidance; ability to react well under pressure and willing to accept responsibility. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; must be able to address business challenges and provide solutions. Must be team-oriented and have the ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work and collaborate with employees and customers within and outside the regional office. Must be able to effectively oversee the operations of a number of departments and oversee staffing and training needs.
