This is a temporary opportunity to support the business development function of a well-respected law firm in Washington, D.C. The role involves working closely with attorneys, business development managers, and marketing staff to support profile-raising and business growth initiatives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Business Development Director or Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for: Supporting marketing and business development initiatives for designated practice groups and firm-wide projects.

Managing the RFP, pitch, and proposal process from planning through submission, including: Collaborating with attorneys, marketing staff, and other firm personnel to develop and execute proposals and presentations.

Identifying and editing relevant content; drafting new content when necessary.

Coordinating research and data requests with analysts, accounting, and reference librarians.

Overseeing the assembly, production, and delivery of finished materials in Word or PowerPoint.

Maintaining and updating practice group content in the central Foundation database.

Assisting with client development and brand positioning efforts, including sponsorships, webinars, seminars, and events.

Preparing and coordinating submissions for major awards and legal directories (e.g., Chambers, The Legal 500).

Utilizing the firm's InterAction database to identify and confirm relationship targets.

Creating targeted lists and supporting attorneys in outreach to specific clients and contacts.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

Bachelor's degree required.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years in marketing, business development, or client relations, preferably within a professional services or law firm environment.

Preferred:

Legal marketing experience and familiarity with marketing databases such as Foundation or InterAction.

Demonstrated experience with RFPs, pitches, and proposal management.

Exceptional writing and editing skills.

Knowledge of business development processes and best practices.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position routinely uses standard office equipment including laptops, phones, and printers.

Ability to lift/move up to 20 pounds.

Work is typically performed in a professional office setting; approximately 70% sitting, 20% standing, and 10% walking.
