Enterprise Architect

We are seeking a visionary Enterprise Architect to lead the design, modernization, and governance of enterprise-wide IT and cybersecurity architectures across the DoD SAP IT ecosystem. This role is pivotal in integrating digital engineering practices, aligning with DoD strategies, and ensuring secure, scalable, and interoperable systems that support national security objectives. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in enterprise architecture, digital transformation, ICAM, and cross-agency collaboration. Required: Clearance Requirement: Candidates must be US citizens able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense Top Secret SCI security clearance as a condition and continuation of employment. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, digital engineering, or IT modernization within a DoD environment. Strong knowledge of DoD IT policies, RMF, ICAM, and cybersecurity frameworks. Experience with MBSE, digital twins, and secure architecture design across classified networks. Proficiency in architecture modeling tools and frameworks (e.g., DoDAF, TOGAF, SysML). Preferred: Master's degree or advanced certification (e.g., TOGAF, CISSP, SABSA). Experience supporting SAP IT systems and cross-domain solutions. Familiarity with DoD CIO Fulcrum strategy and ICAM reference architecture. Experience developing and delivering technical training programs. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing architectures to identify inefficiencies, risks, and compliance gaps. Develop future-state architectures aligned with SAP-IT's strategic plan, DoD CIO's Fulcrum strategy, and SAPCO mission imperatives. Create implementation roadmaps with timelines, milestones, and resource estimates to guide modernization efforts. Develop and implement governance frameworks that define roles, responsibilities, and processes for architecture oversight. Create and enforce policies and standards for security, interoperability, and compliance. Establish architecture review boards and conduct periodic audits to ensure adherence to governance policies. Standardize tools, processes, and methodologies for model-based systems engineering (MBSE), digital twins, and digital threads. Create a secure, centralized data environment for collaboration across programs. Implement data governance policies, access controls, and classification protocols to protect sensitive information. Develop enterprise, cloud, network, data, software, and cybersecurity architectures. Prepare architecture products to support the authorization of SAP program systems, including AI/ML platforms. Design and deploy containerized applications across NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and JWICS environments. Develop interface control documents (ICDs) and integration plans for new technologies. Conduct pilot programs and phased rollouts to test scalability and adoption. Propose technical standards and common APIs for DoD data, analytics, and AI/ML systems. Align SAP IT ICAM architecture with DoD CIO strategies and reference architectures. Identify and address gaps in identity management and access control mechanisms. Implement robust credential management systems supporting PKI, CAC, biometrics, and MFA. Deploy dynamic access control mechanisms and secure cross-domain solutions across DoD networks. Develop and deliver a digital engineering training program incorporating the Zachman Framework and MBSE. Create tailored learning paths for various roles, from foundational to advanced technical expertise. Conduct blended learning sessions using real-world scenarios, simulations, and hands-on exercises. Teach modeling techniques using SysML and DoDAF views (OV, SV, CV) to support architecture development. Track participation, gather feedback, and continuously improve training content and delivery. Collaborate with DoD CIO, military services, agencies, and the Intelligence Community to define interoperable data and computing architectures. Define technical and operational requirements for secure data exchange, communication protocols, and compliance with NIST and DoD standards. Establish shared platforms, secure repositories, and collaborative tools to support joint architecture development and validation. EEO Employer Apex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
