In this role, you will provide dedicated support to a single customer, navigating both the rewarding and challenging aspects of this position. Your responsibilities will include independently troubleshooting and resolving a variety of database issues. While you will have the support of an experienced DBA team, we are looking for a self-starter who can effectively manage multiple tasks and maintain proactive, clear communication with both the customer and Everfox management. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of supporting medium-to-large-scale Oracle databases. Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the RHEL 8.x OS supporting Oracle Database software in physical and virtualized environments. Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting pluggable and containerized Oracle 19c Databases in physical and virtualized environments. Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Oracle Data Guard, Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Exadata systems. Oracle RAC Administration: Configure, manage, and maintain Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) for high availability and scalability in multi-node environments. Exadata Administration: Configure, manage, and optimize Oracle Exadata systems to maximize performance, storage efficiency, and database availability. Oracle Data Guard Administration: Set up, manage, and monitor Oracle Data Guard environments, including Physical Standby, Logical Standby, and Snapshot Standby configurations. Perform switchover and failover procedures for both RAC and Data Guard environments to ensure minimal downtime and continuity of services. Implement and maintain Data Guard Broker for simplified management and monitoring of Data Guard configurations. Optimize the performance and synchronization of Data Guard databases, ensuring minimal data loss in case of failure. Utilize RMAN (Recovery Manager) to perform backups and restore operations for both primary and standby databases. Monitor Oracle RAC environments for database performance, including interconnect configurations, and manage failover scenarios. Manage shared storage solutions, including ASM (Automatic Storage Management) in both RAC and Exadata environments. Troubleshoot issues in RAC and Exadata environments, including network latency, performance bottlenecks, and replication inconsistencies. Configure backup and recovery strategies in a RAC and Data Guard setup using RMAN to ensure data integrity and consistency across all nodes. Ensure high availability of databases across RAC clusters and Exadata configurations, providing solutions for quick recovery during system failures. Collaborate with network and storage teams to configure and manage the infrastructure required for RAC, Exadata, and Data Guard deployments. Document and maintain procedures for Data Guard, RAC, and Exadata configuration, management, and troubleshooting. Performing RHEL 8.x and Oracle 19c upgrades/patching. Periodically validating Oracle 19c backup/recovery operations leveraging RMAN. Monitoring and troubleshooting Oracle database performance. Provide on-demand support for database-related issues and, if need be, work with Oracle support to address any unsolvable onsite problems. Working with the product support and development teams to address issues or bugs discovered in products running at a customer location. Working with onsite government, contractor, or subcontractor staff to resolve issues with onsite products as a first line of support. Reviewing, applying, and remediating security vulnerabilities or security controls based on STIG guidance or scanning reports. Installing firmware updates on physical components such as DellEMC or HPE servers and SANs. Communicating daily with customers and Everfox management, providing detailed activity summaries and in-depth trip reports where applicable. Assisting in the lifting/racking and cabling of physical hardware. Other duties as assigned Things You Must Have to Apply:
An active (currently in use) TS with SCI or SCI eligibility within two years from last use. A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or equivalent education and work experience. At least one DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce Qualification Program certification, at IAT level II (2) or higher. The ability to obtain the appropriate work authorizations required under U.S. ITAR or EAR regulations from the applicable U.S. government agency. 12+ years' experience performing the following tasks: Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the RHEL 8.x OS supporting Oracle Database software in physical and virtualized environments. Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting pluggable and containerized Oracle 19c Databases in physical and virtualized environments. Performing RHEL 8.x and Oracle 19c upgrades/patching. Periodically validating Oracle 19c backup/recovery operations leveraging RMAN. Monitoring and troubleshooting Oracle database performance. Proficiency in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Oracle RAC and Exadata systems. Strong experience with Oracle Data Guard (Physical, Logical, and Snapshot Standby). Hands-on experience with Data Guard Broker and DGMGRL (command-line interface). Deep understanding of backup and recovery processes using RMAN. Proficiency in ASM (Automatic Storage Management) for managing storage in RAC and Exadata environments. Expertise in network configuration and managing high availability setups for RAC, Exadata, and Data Guard systems. Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for monitoring and managing Oracle databases and related technologies. In-depth knowledge of high-availability and disaster recovery concepts, and the ability to perform failover and switchover in RAC and Data Guard environments. Providing on-demand support for database-related issues and, if need be, working with Oracle support to address any unsolvable issues. Working with the product support and development teams to address issues or bugs discovered in products running at a customer location.
