Lead Computed Tomography Technologist
GW Health is the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years, integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC's), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This integrated delivery system is a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it ensures that residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. This full-service hospital includes 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, a 500-car garage, and a helipad for emergency transport. We are seeking a Lead Computed Tomography Technologist (Full Time - Day). Our ideal candidate will work under the direction of the Department Director & Manager, the Lead Computed Tomography Technologist is responsible for producing quality diagnostic images of human anatomy and vascular structures following prescribed protocols. Performs examinations in a proficient, courteous, and professional manner to favorably promote the services offered at the facility. To help achieve our mission, you will complete ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations. Your ability to demonstrate radiation protection/safety for patients, staff, and self, as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines, to ensure the safety of the patients and staff is of vital importance. Maintaining equipment, exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of the patients and employees is required. More information is available on our Benefits Guest Website. Qualifications Requirements: High School Graduate or equivalent. Diploma from a certified school of radiologic technology. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR Certification through the American Heart Association. Active American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT)(CT) license. Minimum three years experience as a registered Computed Tomography Technologist required, acute care experience preferred. Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, regulatory or accreditation requirements. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and percentages. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory bodies, e.g. The Joint Commission and American College of Radiology (ACR) and Title 22 standards and guidelines. Demonstrates compliance with hospital policies and procedures at all times. Demonstrates strong leadership, organization, communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public. Must have knowledge of PC and applications.
