POSITION OVERVIEW: The successful candidate will have a strong technical background experienced in designing and deploying data centers, LAN, WAN, firewall & VPN solutions across a global infrastructure. Candidate will be experienced in driving technology solutions and improvements. Role location: Maryland (onsite 5 days per week) Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Project Engineering Support: Provide project management and engineering support for infrastructure projects from inception through the planning, design, implementation, and operational phase. Network Architecture and Design: Design, plan, and implement complex network infrastructures that supports enterprise-scale IT operations. Implementation and Integration: Oversee the deployment of network infrastructure, ensuring integration with existing systems. Network Security: Implement and maintain network security strategies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems. Network Automation Design: Develop and implement automation workflows using tools such as Ansible, Python, etc. to streamline network operations. Optimization and Performance Management: Monitor and analyze network performance, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT operations, development teams, and management, to ensure network infrastructure supports business/mission applications. Mentorship and Leadership: Serve as a technical leader and mentor to junior network engineers and administrators. Research and Development: Stay up to date on emerging trends in network architectures. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be cleared at TS/SCI Full-Scope poly level. Certifications (minimum one): CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CCDP, JNCIS-ENT, JNCIS-SP, JNCIS-DevOps, RCNI, ECP Ability to lead complex, large-scale network projects from initiation and planning through execution and closing. 10 years combined experience with: networking, firewalls, best practices / standards, security / STIG requirements, design life cycle and documentation In-depth experience and understanding of L3 protocols to include MPLS VPN, BGP, OSPF, QoS, DNS/DHCP, firewalls, multicast (PIM-SM / PIM-DM) and L2 protocols such as spanning tree, RSTP, MSTP, IGMP, 802.1x and data center technologies (SDN, NFV, HCI, intent-based networking, spine-leaf topologies). In-depth experience with load-balancing methodologies and application delivery controllers (F5, Cisco, Citrix) In-depth experience with Software Defined networking, AI, ML, automation (Ansible, Python, Puppet, etc). Design and deployment experience with Cisco/Brocade/Juniper/NVIDIA routing and switching products, as well as, firewall experience (Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto firewall) Experience with network management platforms and protocols such as SNMP, Sflow, Netconf.
