Job Description
A healthcare organization is seeking to hire a Medical Biller. In this seat, you will assist the current Assistant Business Office Manager with receivables. Additionally, you will handle all billing, collection of payments, and data management. Need a candidate who has PCC software experience and has dealt with Medicare A&B, private insurance, and insurance follow-up. Previous nursing home industry experience is highly preferred, but not required!
Duties
Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and government payers. Review patient records to ensure proper coding using ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG classifications. Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any discrepancies with insurance providers. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations. Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation for billing purposes. Manage accounts receivable and perform medical collections as needed. Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices. Requirements
Proficiency in medical coding, particularly ICD-10 and DRG systems. Strong understanding of medical office operations and billing processes. Experience with medical collection practices and managing accounts receivable. Ability to work with electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, providers, and insurance companies. Knowledge of medical records management principles.
