Data Analyst - Position Overview

The Data Analyst is responsible for performing a wide variety of routine services working closely with the Senior Director of Information Technology. The Data Analyst plays a crucial role in integrating data across all institutional information systems, compiling data for internal and external reports and projects, responding to ad hoc data requests, and generating various reports and analyses. Data Analyst will be responsible for compiling, structuring, and analyzing data to develop insights and conclusions that help streamline processes throughout an organization. Additionally, Data Analyst will be interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques, providing ongoing reports, and filings for the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of data analysis methodologies and the ability to communicate findings effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional analytical skills, and experience working with rule-based systems, predictive analytics, and advanced data solutions. Success in this role requires technical expertise, critical thinking, and strong collaboration skills to work effectively across departments. The Data Analyst will work closely with various departments to support decision-making processes and enhance operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports to deliver actionable insights. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and provide analytical support. Apply statistical techniques to identify trends, correlations, and data anomalies. Conduct business analysis to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements. Assist in designing and implementing data models to support linked data initiatives. Optimize and enhance data processes and systems for improved efficiency. Prepare and present reports detailing data findings and insights. Establish and recommend short- and long-term goals, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance indicators. Manage and maintain datasets, ensuring data accuracy and thorough documentation. Gather, analyze, and interpret data to support informed decision-making. Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate insights and recommendations. Work closely with internal teams to identify challenges and implement data-driven solutions. Perform other projects and duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Information Technology.

Technical Skills & Competencies

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate to advanced expertise in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, and data manipulation). Experience with data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau, along with familiarity with programmable software. Expert in Excel and Access, with strong capabilities in creating complex reports using VLOOKUPs and pivot tables. Skilled in analyzing data from multiple platforms to create reports tailored to business requirements. Strong organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail, accuracy, and the capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Willingness and ability to learn and adapt to new software applications. Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset, capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate data-related issues in an organized and understandable manner.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field plus two (2) or more years experience in data analysis, preferably within the healthcare industry preferred. Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau & Power BI. Strong knowledge of data quality, validation, and cleansing processes. Proficiency with Microsoft, Word, Excel, and Outlook or other email program is required. Experience working in a nonprofit setting is preferred. Must be willing to use personal vehicle for business travel when required. Seniority level
