Description

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The Inventory Specialist supports the efficient flow of merchandise and supplies through CommunityAid's supplemental warehouse and distribution network. This hands-on role is responsible for receiving, organizing, tracking, and distributing both surplus and procured inventory across store locations. Working closely with the Logistics and Procurement teams, the Inventory Specialist ensures accurate inventory records, supports timely stock transfers, and helps maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment. This position also plays a key role in forklift operation, warehouse logistics, and overall inventory control.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Inventory Management: Receive and coordinate supplemental product and operational supplies inventory into the distribution center/supplemental warehouse using the inventory management system. This includes keeping an accurate record of all inbound and outbound transfer orders. Manage the supply of surplus product in the distribution center/supplemental warehouse. Prepare and stage transfer order requisitions for the Store Operations. Lead Logistics in loading and unloading product and operating supplies from the trucks. Conduct inventory counts of surplus product, operating supplies, floor displays, and procurement product under the direction of the Manager of Business Logistics. Collaboratively maintain an inventory management system to track surplus inventory across multiple locations in the network along with the rest of the logistics team. Procurement Inventory Management:

Receive procurement shipments from external suppliers Record and count procurement inventory under the direction of the Procurement team Assist the Procurement team in breaking down pallets and distributing procurement products across stores. Manage access to a secure cage for procurement inventory Safety and Compliance:

Support a safe working environment enabled by individual responsibility and peer relationships. Proactively approach safety with a focus on injury prevention, safe work environments and constant feedback loops to improve. Immediately report theft, customer complaints, injuries and any unsafe equipment or conditions to management. Comply with CommunityAid's Employee Handbook and any other established standards, policies, and directives of CommunityAid management. Prioritize maintaining a clean and clutter-free work area. Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform other duties as assigned, with primary focus on Forklift operation, including but not limited to:

Operating a forklift to support bailing operations and loading bale trailers efficiently and safely. Assisting Warehouse Supervisors with trash runs. Supporting the donation door by unloading and sorting incoming donations. Assisting production departments by:

Loading production tables Moving gaylords and truck bins

Valid Driver's license Must be eligible to work in the U.S without sponsorship. Flexibility to travel to various CommunityAid sites to support operational needs. 1-2 years of experience in Logistics, Warehouse Operations, or related field preferred. Strong understanding of inventory control. Working experience of inventory control software. Experience with forklift preferred, this position will be trained and certified per CommunityAid policy and procedure. Critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently. Strong decision-making skills Strong leadership capabilities Adherence to consistent attendance and weekly hours expectations based on full-time/part-time/seasonal nonexempt(hourly) status. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to stand for up to 8 hours in a day Ability to lift to 75 pounds Ability to push and pull large loads with the aid of a mechanical device
