Prep Cook
Position Summary
Trillium is seeking a Prep Cook to join our team at our Canton location! In this position, you will be assisting in the preparation of various dishes in the kitchen. You will perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients efficiently within the established standards in every aspect.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Food Production
Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food, etc. Food preparation of meats/poultry/game/fish/vegetables/fruits, etc. Lifting and moving equipment to and from work stations, stoves, and refrigerators Food Safety
Comply with nutritional and sanitation guidelines Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, etc. Ensure food and other items are stored properly Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Desired Qualifications & Abilities
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 2 years' kitchen preparation experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Previous prep cook experience in a modern dining restaurant preferred Minimum 18 years of age Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen Must be able to perform in a fast-paced kitchen environment Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations Strong team-minded approach to fellow workers Primary food quality work ethic Proficient knife skills and use of equipment Benefits
