AS400/RPG Programmer Analyst

We're looking for a skilled AS400/RPG Programmer Analyst to join our dynamic IT team where legacy systems meet modern business challenges. This role offers the unique opportunity to work with established IBM AS400 technology while driving innovation in retail, logistics, and distribution systems.
You'll be part of a fast-paced environment where your technical expertise directly impacts business operations. From analyzing complex business processes to developing robust programming solutions, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing systems that power our retail operations.
What You'll Do
Master Legacy Systems : Work extensively with IBM AS400 platform, maintaining and enhancing critical business applications Drive Technical Solutions : Gather requirements, analyze business processes, and propose innovative enhancements Develop Robust Applications : Create and modify programs using RPG3, RPG-IV, RPG-ILE, RPG-Free, and CL programming languages Design Comprehensive Solutions : Consider database structures, user interfaces, and reporting requirements in your programming modifications Ensure Quality Excellence : Develop and execute formal test plans while maintaining high quality assurance standards Bridge Technical and Business : Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders across departments Document and Visualize : Create meaningful flowcharts for business processes and programming logic Collaborate Across Teams : Work with remote users, vendors, and various departments to implement successful projects What You Bring
AS400 Platform Expertise : Strong working knowledge of IBM AS400 systems and architecture Programming Proficiency : Solid experience with RPG3, RPG-IV, RPG-ILE, RPG-Free, and CL programming languages Analytical Skills : Ability to analyze business processes and propose technical enhancements Requirements Management : Experience gathering, documenting, and translating business requirements into technical solutions Quality Focus : Understanding of QA principles with ability to create and execute comprehensive test plans Communication Excellence : Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts clearly Problem-Solving Mindset : Creative approach to troubleshooting and proposing alternative solutions Business Acumen : General proficiency with Microsoft Office and understanding of business processes Project Management : Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects effectively Adaptability : Willingness to work with legacy technology while staying current with industry trends Preferred Experience

The candidate must stay informed about current technology trends and be proactive in acquiring new skills. Adeptness in navigating technical roadblocks and proposing innovative solutions is crucial. The candidate should be comfortable thinking outside the box when necessary.
