Job Starting Date: 09/01/2024. Job Ending Date: 10/31/2025. Simon specializes in aggregates, asphalt and ready-mix concrete production, asphalt paving, and concrete, bridge, highway, and utility construction. Job Summary: Safely operates an asphalt distributor truck used in application of specialized emulsions to roadways and assists paving crews with other tasks related to commercial paving projects. Main Responsibilities: Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies Follow dispatch instructions and adhere to commercial driving regulations Perform daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT regulations and company guidelines; check fluid levels, tires, lights, and other controls required for safe operation Drive and operate distributor truck equipped with tank to spray asphalt emulsions on road surfaces Load truck and emulsion tanks, including connecting and disconnecting hoses Set spray bar on manual, automatic, or semi-automatic distributors for applying liquid asphalt and emulsion; clean spray bars as needed Monitor flow, tachometer and temperature gauges to ensure uniform distribution of product Observe and monitor product quality and ensure proper application Maintain housekeeping of vehicle, including interior operator's cab and exterior components Maintain accurate time, mileage, and delivery logs, and submit forms/paperwork required for accounting purposes Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the supervisor Operate other vehicles and/or equipment, and assist paving crew with other tasks as assigned Education: High school diploma or equivalent Class A CDL with doubles/triples, hazmat and tanker endorsement, and clean driving history Skills: Two years of experience working in paving operations or similar environment preferred Prior experience operating a commercial vehicle in an industrial, construction, or similar environment preferred Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions in English Ability to complete required paper and/or electronic documentation Physical Requirements: Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance Regularly required to use hands to move and manipulate objects Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear) Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Frequent exposure to loud noise, and work around heavy machinery and mobile construction equipment Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, fuel, oil, and other chemicals typical to construction sites Some travel with overnight stays away from home may be required Benefits and Perks: Choice of 3 Medical Plan Options Prescription Drug Coverage Dental and Vision Plans Flexible Spending Account or Health Savings Options Access to Telemedicine and Healthcare Advocacy Services Employee Assistance Program Life and AD&D Insurance Disability Insurance Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays 401(k) Savings Plan with Company Match Product and Service Group Discount Programs The applicants must apply via our website at www.simonteam.com only.
