Our Data Center Engineering Operations team maintains and operates our critical infrastructure systems to ensure they are prepared for any situation. Our Facility Managers help keep them that way by collaborating with the brightest minds globally to test and implement new technologies and work practices to meet market demands. Oversee all aspects of the data centers critical physical infrastructure, maintaining high availability and performance while ensuring work quality without impacting customers and meeting SLAs. Manage on-site teams of 24x7 shift technicians, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring adherence to practices, procedures, and safety protocols. Promote safety and security culture and compliance within the team. Hire, coach, and develop team members; responsible for career growth and performance management. Foster a healthy team culture and high morale. Manage operations budget and expenditures efficiently. Engage in improvement projects, collaborating with support teams from conception to completion. Act as escalation point for facilities issues; oversee operations of critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS, chillers, cooling towers, and monitoring systems. Utilize root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills. Respond to out-of-hours emergency calls. Support multiple locations/sites as needed. Assist in new facility build-outs and efficiency projects. Use administrative tools like Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for daily tasks. Physical Requirements

Willingness and ability to work in conditions such as participating in group lifts over 40 pounds, working on ladders, and performing various physical tasks as detailed, with reasonable accommodations. A day in the life

High school diploma or equivalent 4+ years in management with 5+ direct reports 5+ years in data center or mission-critical environment knowledge OR 7+ years of relevant technical training/experience Preferred Qualifications

Advanced electrical/mechanical certifications or relevant engineering degree 5+ years managing 5+ direct reports 7+ years in data center operations with emphasis on building and equipment systems Strong understanding of electrical/mechanical systems like feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS, chillers, pumps, and air handling units Excellent communication skills, technical writing, or business justification experience Amazon is an equal opportunity employer.
