Patient Financial Services Manager

Southwoods Health is seeking a Patient Financial Services Manager to oversee all professional and technical post-discharge revenue cycle processes across our network. This role is responsible for managing billing, coding, charge entry, collections, denials, revenue integrity, and customer service teams. The ideal candidate will provide strategic leadership, ensure compliance with federal/state regulations, and promote a culture of operational excellence and patient-centered service.

Key Responsibilities: Supervise the patient financial services team across multiple entities. Oversee all aspects of the post discharge revenue cycle to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Set performance benchmarks and KPIs for all functional areas within the department. Mentor and develop team members, fostering a high-performance and collaborative work environment. Drive initiatives to optimize workflows, leverage technology, and improve financial outcomes. Monitor and report on department performance; present strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Co-manage chargemaster maintenance in collaboration with clinical leadership. Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to align revenue cycle strategies with broader organizational goals. Establish strong working relationships with physicians, clinical leaders, and external partners. Stay informed on regulatory updates, RAC/OIG audit targets, and ensure organizational compliance. Oversee staff scheduling, payroll approvals, and time-off requests. Ensure a high level of patient satisfaction through effective financial communication and service. Participate in continuing education and maintain current knowledge in healthcare revenue cycle management. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management. Prior leadership or healthcare management experience required. Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) credential preferred. Strong knowledge of billing systems, insurance requirements, healthcare regulations, and compliance standards. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
