Job Requirements Education: Graduate of a School of Practical Nursing. Current licensure as a Practical Nurse in the state of Arkansas. Experience: Knowledge of clinic policies, procedures, practices, techniques, and equipment as acquired through orientation. Knowledge of computer software such as Windows, Office, and internet use. Experience with allergy testing preferred. Physical: This is a safety sensitive position. Please see the St. Bernards Substance Abuse Policy for further information. Normal clinic environment. Exposure to biological hazards. Close eye work. Hearing of normal and soft tones. Distinguish smells. Distinguish temperatures by touch and proximity. Frequent exposure to fumes, odors, and water. Lifting up to 100 lbs. Carrying up to 40 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 350 lbs. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching and occasional stress related to patient load. Job Summary Provide specialized care and treatment for adults and children with allergies. Administer allergy testing. Interpret allergy testing results. Educate patients about their allergy treatment options. Administer allergy injections and monitor patients for any type of allergic reaction. Mix allergy medication for each individual patient. Document appropriately in EMR. Return patient phone calls regarding allergy questions/concerns. Order allergy supplies. Filing patient charts. Work in a fast-paced environment. Rooming patients. Other routine nursing tasks. Meditech knowledge helpful, but not required.
