Retail Operations Management Trainee

The management trainee program is designed to equip future managers with the necessary skills and knowledge. Department assignments will be based on store needs. Duties and responsibilities include: Observe and follow all company policies and established standard practices. Manage department operations in the absence of the department manager. Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance and comply with company's personal appearance policy. Recognize associates who deliver great service and coach associates to expectations when necessary. Understand and use company tools such as financial reports, scheduling, productivity, ordering, and business information systems. Maintain solid communication in the department, with the store manager, and throughout the organization. Maintain merchandising techniques and layouts consistent with company standards. Maintain department compliance with pricing and coding policy. Work within company's management planning guidelines to maintain productivity. Support company safety standards and communicate any needed equipment repairs or maintenance. Develop product knowledge in all areas of the assigned department, including product preparation. Have total understanding of department's Standard Practice manual. Ensure the proper training of all assigned department associates. Ensure and maintain company sanitation and food safety standards. Maintain the quality of department's appearance and presentation. Treat all associates with fairness, dignity, and respect. Perform all special projects and duties as assigned. Qualifications include: Ability to lead and direct others. Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job. Good interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team environment. Must meet minimum age requirements to comply with company policy. Effective communication and customer service skills. Physical requirements include: Lift cases or packages of products weighing 1-40 lb. frequently and 100 lb. on occasion. Meet established volume activity standards. Stand or walk 100% of the time. Perform repetitive grasping, twisting, reaching and hand/arm motions. Be able to handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning and packaging materials. Use hands continuously to feel objects, and use tools and equipment to cut and prepare products. Frequent bending. Preferred requirements include: Role model outstanding, friendly customer service. Direct work flow of assigned department associates. Ensure product produced meets company standards. Oversee the assigned areas including rotation of all products. Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records. Order and maintain inventory control. Use good judgment in delegation, assignment, and follow up. Maintain effectiveness of department's staffing, scheduling, and financial results. Wash, rinse, and sanitize equipment as outlined by company practices.
