Virtualization Systems Administrator (TS/SCI FSP)

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Virtualization Systems Administrator to support a complex, multi-site IT infrastructure based inFairfax, Virginia. This role is centered around Windows and Red Hat Linux-based High-Performance Computing (HPC) clusters and includes support for secure lab environments, classified networks, and future integration of embedded Linux systems like VxWorks. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement secure system architectures using best practices in software and systems engineering Provide end-to-end IT support across desktops, servers, and virtualized environments Manage system access, patching, and hardware/software release planning Administer and maintain Linux (RHEL) and Windows systems Troubleshoot complex system issues and automate tasks using scripting (e.g., PowerShell) Support classified networks and ensure compliance with RMF/JSIG security standards Integrate and maintain applications and infrastructure in secure environments Basic Qualifications: ActiveTS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph(CI Poly within the last 5 years) Experience supporting the Maryland Intelligence Customer 5+ years of experience supporting lab/test environments and classified networks Strong background in Linux and Windows OS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting Hands-on experience with IT hardware, networking equipment, and HPC systems The ability to stand up virtual Linux environments Security+ certification(or ability to obtain within 6 months) Preferred Qualifications: Deep experience withRHEL, Windows Server/Desktop, VMware, and Active Directory Experience with Embedded Linux Familiarity with Group Policy Objects (GPOs), PowerShell scripting, and Agile methodologies Experience with system backups, patching, and COTS software Knowledge ofRMF/JSIGcompliance and secure system integration Compensation: Salary:$140,000 - $205,000
