Position Overview

We are seeking an expert Engineering Senior Technical Lead to join our application services team. This person's primary responsibility will be to lead design and implementation activities for application services (middleware engineering) services. The Technical Lead will join a diverse multi-functional team to collaborate on building the service platform (in on-premise and AWS cloud) to enable Freddie Mac applications team to host/migrate business applications. The candidate is expected to have strong technical skills in engineering and supporting MW technologies as well as automation skills to develop highly scalable solutions at enterprise scale. The candidate should be able to learn/adapt new tools/technologies and implement them for enterprise adoption in accordance with Freddie Mac operational and security standards. Our Impact

Collaborate on projects with architecture, strategy and Information security teams to design and implement application services in alignment with application patterns

Business Communication - engage with internal teams, project teams and business areas to discuss issues and document or explain technical solutions in a simplified meaningful way

Participate in design reviews of architecture & design patterns for service/application deployment on-premise and cloud (AWS)

Collaborate with core services such as (Database, OS engineering etc) leads to build-out the components for application services

Deliver and maintain standard operating procedures and assist in solving issues

Participate in on-call activities as needed for major incident resolution and problem management

Mentor junior members in the operations team and engineering teams

Help coordinate project deployments with other engineers and make schedule recommendation

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience; advanced studies/degree preferred

10 + years of experience in Information technology in designing, engineering and managing enterprise grade solutions for middleware technologies

Hands on experience in applications server technologies (WebLogic, TomEE), messaging / broker technologies (MQ, Kafka), API and business process management technologies (Apigee, Appian) is a must

Strong application architecture as well as application development background along with at least 2-3 years of experience with engineering and supporting containerization technology (Openshift, Kubernetes, AWS(ECS/EKS) etc.) is preferred

Experience with Ansible, Terraform and other configuration management tools

Experience with scripting tools (Python, Perl, Shell scripting etc.) to automate routine operation tasks

Documentation of Engineering Solutions and Designs

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $162,000 - $242,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
