Senior Workday Support Analyst
The Senior Workday Support Analyst provides comprehensive support to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software applications in use by Richland County. This position will be responsible for collaborating with business stakeholders to understand their needs, translating those needs into effective Workday solutions. This includes designing, developing, and implementing business processes, reports, and integrations. The Analyst will also provide comprehensive end-user support, troubleshooting issues, and delivering training to ensure smooth and efficient utilization of the Workday platform. Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into functional specifications for Workday solutions. Design, develop, and test Workday business processes, including configuration of security groups, business process definitions, and related components. Create and maintain Workday reports and dashboards, utilizing various reporting tools and techniques. Develop and maintain integrations between Workday and other systems, ensuring seamless data flow. Provide end-user support, troubleshooting issues, answering questions, and escalating complex problems as needed. Develop and deliver training materials and conduct training sessions for Workday users. Stay up-to-date on Workday updates, new features, and best practices. Participate in Workday upgrade and enhancement projects, contributing to testing and implementation efforts. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for Workday configurations, processes, and reports. Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure the Workday environment is secure and performing optimally. Proactively identify opportunities to improve Workday utilization and efficiency. Using advanced skills, performs business process design, configuration and implementation. Works closely with Project Manager to complete software implementations, develop acceptance criteria, coordinate acceptance testing, coordinate system conversions, coordinate the integration of new systems to existing systems, and conduct post-implementation reviews. Assists with advanced project tasks by reviewing/advising on improved business rules and processes. Assists with advanced support tasks by analyzing problems in existing systems to determine effective resolution. Oversees and ensures data integrity and effective/efficient business software operations. Assists RCIT management to write procurement solicitations such as Requests for Proposals, Bids, Quotes, and Qualifications (RFPs, RFBs, RFQs). Regularly interacts with Richland County department heads and their designated representatives. Travels to customer sites throughout the county. May travel in-state and out-of-state for business purposes. Regularly interacts with outside consultants and outside vendors. May serve as a Richland County representative on state, regional, and national user groups for purchased software packages. Other duties as assigned. Must have a four-year degree in a field applicable to this position or equivalent professional experience. High School diploma is required. Must be able to supply written proof of completion for all course work and/or degrees that are being used to satisfy the minimum requirements. Certification in Agile methodology is preferred. Must possess a valid Driver's License. Applicants shall provide a current copy of their Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), obtained at the applicant's expense. Complexity This position is complex in nature, unstructured, with little routine work. Errors could cause serious system design flaws, program bugs, corrupt the accuracy/integrity of computer information, and result in computer system crashes and computer downtime that could last for days. Errors could also cause simultaneous downtime to multiple mission critical computer systems affecting multiple departments. The inability of multiple departments to adequately serve the public, as well as obstructing departments from performing their normal daily functions, could result from errors created by someone in this position. In determining relevant experience, the following criteria will be considered: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of experience supporting and configuring Workday ERP, specifically in HCM, Finance, Procurement, and Budgeting. Strong understanding of Workday business processes and security configurations. Proficiency in Workday reporting tools and techniques, including calculated fields and report writer. Experience with Workday integration tools and technologies is a plus. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication, interpersonal, and training skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with bank integrations. Must have advanced experience planning, organizing, and coordinating the development, deployment, and support of mission critical software applications. Must have experience conducting software training sessions. Must have advanced understanding of software application security in relevant software systems. This includes the ability to identify and configure the appropriate level of security for each group of software users to prevent unauthorized access to restricted data. Must have advanced business analysis skills/experience in a post-production environment. Must have advanced experience negotiating acceptance criteria with both vendors and user departments, and coordinating acceptance testing according to the acceptance criteria. Must have advanced experience working with project managers to lead projects through the full project life cycle and be able to organize projects from beginning to end. This includes creating project plans, and setting specific, realistic, and measurable objectives. Must have a successful track record contributing to the successful completion of projects in accordance to established budget, schedule, and quality objectives. Must have considerable experience performing formal product research on alternative options for possible system recommendations, documenting the pros and cons of each option. Must have considerable experience in preparing detail project status reports for management. Must have fundamental understanding of network security, and various methods to prevent hackers, viruses, and unauthorized uses of the business software running on the network. Must have advanced analytical and organizational skills. Must have advanced creative thinking abilities and problem-solving skills. Must have the administrative and interpersonal skills needed to function effectively in this position. Must be a trustworthy caretaker of confidential information. A preferred skill would be SQL database query and design experience.
