Position Summary
The Assistant Information Technology Manager supports the overall IT operations within the Arena's food and beverage technology systems. Reporting to the IT Manager, position provides supervisory leadership to IT support staff and assumes primary responsibility for day-to-day operational oversight, system optimization, and problem resolution across point-of-sale (POS), inventory management, and digital signage technologies. This role exercises independent judgment in the execution of support strategies and is entrusted with decision-making authority in the absence of the IT Manager. The Assistant IT Manager ensures technology functions align with operational goals and compliance standards, providing critical support during live events and supervising front-line technical support staff. This position is ideal for a hands-on, service-oriented leader with strong technical acumen and supervisory capability. This role pays an annual salary of $55,000 to $60,000 and is bonus eligible. Lead the daily operations and functionality of food and beverage IT systems, including POS systems, digital menu boards, handheld devices, and inventory management platforms. Ensure proper deployment, configuration, and maintenance of system hardware and software. Coordinate and execute minor system upgrades and security patches under the direction of the IT Manager. Independently troubleshoot and resolve system and network issues, escalating complex problems as needed. Directly supervise at least one IT Assistant, overseeing task assignment, daily workload, and performance feedback. Provide training, coaching, and development to technical support staff to ensure consistent service delivery and knowledge transfer. Monitor team responsiveness and quality of support, implementing process improvements as necessary. Collaborate with the IT Manager in planning and executing technology initiatives to enhance the guest experience and F&B operational efficiency. Serve as the on-site lead for IT support during live events, ensuring that POS and menu systems function without disruption. Coordinate with F&B operations and vendors to support special events and promotional initiatives through IT tools. Assist in the administration and monitoring of system integrations between POS, inventory, and reporting platforms. Ensure system data accuracy, supporting periodic audits and reconciliation tasks. Maintain documentation of technical workflows, SOPs, and user guides. Assist with implementation and monitoring of cybersecurity practices and PCI compliance controls specific to payment technologies. Identify and resolve compliance-related concerns in collaboration with IT leadership and internal auditors. Other duties and related responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 3 years of progressive IT experience, including supervisory or team lead responsibilities. Proven experience supporting POS systems (such as Oracle MICROS, Toast, etc.) in high-volume environments. Familiarity with inventory tracking software and digital signage platforms. Working knowledge of networking concepts and IT security best practices. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in technology operations and personnel oversight. Must be available to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and event days.
