Data Engineering Agile Specialist

Possess advanced technical expertise in data governance, cloud-based data infrastructure, and data mesh architecture to ensure the successful implementation and ongoing support of the organization's decentralized data management strategy. Demonstrate proficiency in AWS services, including but not limited to Simple Storage Service (S3), Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, and Lambda, for the development and maintenance of robust, scalable Extract Transform Load (ETL) pipelines that fulfill data domain requirements and facilitate self-service analytics. Developing and maintaining scalable ETL pipelines to support data domain requirements and self-service analytics. As a custodian of the data mesh framework, lead organizational training initiatives for data stewards and users on data mesh principles and assist in the cultural adoption of these practices. This includes ensuring that all organizational data assets are securely governed, readily accessible, and effectively managed to support long-term analytics, insights, and innovation. Expertise in data governance, including data privacy, access controls, lineage, and metadata management. Proficiency in AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, and Lambda for cloud-based data infrastructure. Experience in developing and maintaining scalable ETL pipelines to support data domain requirements and self-service analytics. Strong understanding of data mesh architecture and decentralized data management strategies. Ability to design and deploy domain-specific data products, ensuring adherence to schema design and data transformation standards. Skilled in integrating and managing data catalogs to enhance data discoverability across multiple domains. Proficiency in using data governance tools to automate governance workflows and maintain data integrity. Experience in supporting and maintaining enterprise Data Mesh software for availability and reliability. Strong collaboration skills to work directly with data domain teams and ensure alignment with enterprise data strategies. Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence, and SAFe. Follow Agile Methodology & Practices. Follow SAFe Agile principles and practices, including iterative development, continuous delivery, and collaboration. Participate in all required SAFe ceremonies, including Program Increment (PI) Planning, Iteration Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives. Continuously improve development processes by embracing retrospectives and feedback from stakeholders. Support and adhere to the integration of system-level architecture and design principles to ensure system interoperability. Responsible for Agile Artifacts: Documentation of all work in Epics, Features, and Stories in JIRA. Document detailed user stories for each feature. These user stories will be maintained and updated throughout the project lifecycle as needed. Create and maintain a prioritized product backlog outlining all features and functionalities. Additionally, Iteration backlogs will be developed for each iteration, detailing the specific user stories planned for completion within that timeframe. Plan and coordinate with all teams within the Value Streams to ensure alignment and cross-functional collaboration. Foster transparency through regular progress updates and continuous communication with stakeholders. Participate in System Demos and demonstrate completed work to stakeholders at the end of each iteration. Collaborate with other teams across the organization to remove dependencies and resolve blockers to ensure continuous flow of work. Use the Government-provided toolset for managing work, tracking progress, and documenting deliverables. Break down work into manageable features and user stories with clear acceptance criteria. Active Secret Clearance or higher. Seven (7) or more years of experience in related field. Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, preferred. TekSynap is seeking members for an Agile service contract. To meet strategic goals and operational needs, specialized Agile teams are needed to focus on Data Engineering, Data Standards, Core Services, and Enterprise Tools support. This contract is for Agile teams to advance the organization's Enterprise Services capabilities, focusing on delivering secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions that meet evolving business needs. Agile teams will be responsible for understanding complex technical and organizational requirements, then translating them into innovative, efficient solutions that align with enterprise standards and promote seamless integration across various systems. Following the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Agile methodology, the teams will ensure a continuous delivery model that meets rigorous standards of security, scalability, and reliability. Agile teams will bring expertise across essential domains, including data engineering and standards, software development, and enterprise tool support, ensuring comprehensive capabilities to meet the diverse technical and operational needs of the government customer.
