About the Role We are seeking a dynamic Vice President of Data Operations to spearhead the engineering and strategic management of our database platforms. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for crafting and advocating a robust strategic roadmap for data operations and database management across diverse systems, including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and DB2. You will steer the architecture of high-availability, resilient, and scalable database platforms and lead the exciting transition of on-premise databases to innovative cloud-native solutions. Your role will also involve mentoring a talented team of DBAs, driving essential upgrade projects, and ensuring that our database security protocols meet industry regulations. The ideal candidate will bring at least 10 years of experience in database management, with a strong background managing a variety of database platforms in both on-premises and cloud environments. We require proven leadership in a data-centric organization, particularly within the financial services sector or other heavily regulated industries, for a minimum of 5 years. Additionally, successful applicants will possess expertise in transitioning from on-prem to cloud-based technologies, experience with Agile methodologies, and a solid understanding of AWS. You should have a background in selecting and negotiating third-party products and services, along with proficiency in SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or DB2 z/OS. A degree in computer science, hard sciences, or engineering is preferred, complemented by relevant DBA and cloud certifications.
