The Claims Specialist would report to the Safety Manager overseeing the Regional Facilities Centers. Our teams mission is to help our business succeed by mitigating risk, loss and ensuring a safe work environment. About the Role: This position is responsible for managing Workers Compensation claims, supporting safety initiatives and insurance claims activities. This position will actively manage the workers compensation claims start-to-end process, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, collaborate with internal business partners on the health and claims status of our injured workers, and support the risk manager with insurance claims. This position will help to promote a safe and healthy work environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, empathy, problem-solving and organizational skills. Responsibilities Include: Receive, review and manage WC claims from start to finish, including initial reporting, investigation and closure. Investigate incidents, gather information, and determine the validity of claims. Ensure compliance with state and federal WC laws, regulations and policies Facilitate discussions and communication with employees, supervisors, HR Benefits, medical providers, and other stakeholders involved in the WC process. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all claims, including documentation, correspondence, and any relevant information. Assist and support the return-to-work program and light duty assignments for injured employees. Track and manage the cost of WC claims, including medical expenses and lost wages. Provide training and education to employees and supervisors on WC procedures and regulations. Schedule root cause analysis meetings with managers/supervisors to conduct. Prepare claim documentation for settlement and obtain Risk Manager approval. Generate monthly and quarterly WC data to identify trends and areas for improvement in safety and risk management. Provide support for WC-related litigation, including preparing documentation and working with legal counsel. Prepare and maintain OSHA 300 and 301 logs and ensure timely submission. Support Risk Manager with Auto and GL claims management, reporting, and analysis. Determine and validate if claims fall under subrogation. Identify legal liability and pursue, negotiate and settle subrogation collection. Collaborate with legal to resolve. Support and participate in all safety initiatives, including inspections, training, recordkeeping, and reporting. Develop dashboards and metrics to track safety performance and claims trends. Participate in quarterly claim reviews and subrogation efforts as needed. Perform other duties and projects assigned by the Safety Manager. About The Pay: Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 Annually 401(k) Profit Sharing Medical, Dental, Vision & More! Final compensation will be determined based upon experience and skills and may vary based on location. About You: Bachelors Degree Preferred or any equivalent combination of education and/or related experience. 35 years of experience in Workers Compensation claims administration and workplace safety support. Familiarity with OSHA reporting and safety compliance standards preferred. Experience working with third-party administrators and insurance carriers Strong administrative and organizational skills with attention to accuracy and detail. Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work across all levels of the organization. Excellent communication skills - verbal and written. Ability to muti-task and manage a caseload of claims with associated deadlines and requirements. Able to work as part of a team as well as ability to take initiative and work independently a self-starter. Good problem-solving and negotiating skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data analysis). Ability to travel 10% of the time.
