Software Systems Engineer

We are seeking a mission-focused Software Systems Engineer to join a high-impact defense technology team supporting the Airborne Mission Processor (AMP) under the Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) program. You'll be part of a tightly integrated, technically advanced group building secure, high-performance Linux-based systems that support national defense operations. This is not a "plug-and-code" developer role. You'll be designing and integrating software systems, configuring secure Linux environments, writing automation scripts, and applying DISA STIGs to create hardened networked computer systems in mission-critical environments. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, document, and test integrated software systems for embedded, high-performance computing platforms Perform hardware/software interface integration for secure small computer networks Administer and configure secure Linux systems (client/server) Develop Bash and shell automation scripts Conduct cybersecurity hardening (DISA STIGs, scan remediations, network lockdown) Support secure high-speed copper and fiber networks in closed-loop systems Collaborate closely with system architects and project leads in a classified environment Minimum Qualifications: U.S. Citizen with active SECRET clearance Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 5+ years of experience in software/systems engineering Strong Linux system administration and scripting experience (BASH or equivalent) Experience applying STIGs or similar security hardening practices Understanding of high-speed secure networks (TCP/IP, fiber/copper media) Preferred Experience: DoD or Aerospace/Defense program experience Experience with automation, logging, monitoring, or compliance tools in secure environments Familiarity with small form-factor hardware or mission processors Why You Should Apply: This role is designed for engineers who thrive in structured, technical environments where the mission matters. If you prefer logic over chaos, solutions over guesswork, and find satisfaction in making complex systems secure, efficient, and bulletproof, you'll feel at home here. You'll work independently, but always with purpose contributing directly to the protection of U.S. forces and national interests. We value precision, professionalism, and performance not fluff.
