Clinical Director

The Clinical Director is the clinical authority for the facilities which they oversee. This position is responsible for training, coaching, and developing the patient care and operational skills of all clinical staff (Therapists, Program Managers, Case Managers, LVNs, etc.) and improving the quality of the program's care, treatment, and services (incl. the record/documentation of such services). This position leads initiatives to ensure their programs deliver positive outcomes for both our clients and the business (e.g. Length of Stay, Clinical Documentation, Treatment Planning, etc.). The Program Manager oversees day-to-day operations of a 14-Bed Crisis Stabilization Mental Health Residential Facility. This program will treat high acuity clients with mental health disorders such as: Bi-Polar, Schizophrenia, Depression, Anxiety, etc. Due to the nature of the clients treated at this program, and the relevant governing body (DSS and DHCS) requirements, candidates with a background of treating mental health clients in a crisis setting are strongly preferred. Key responsibilities include: Training clinical staff on key job responsibilities (incl. Client intervention, peer review, therapy modalities, clinical documentation, AMA blocking, utilization reviews, etc.) Ensuring clients are receiving the highest quality of care and programs remain in full compliance with all state, licensing, and accreditation requirements at all times Drive positive client and business outcomes through increased lengths of stay, continuation of care, and facility census Developing operational processes and training materials to improve the clinical effectiveness of relevant residential and outpatient programs (e.g. intake, medication, therapy schedule, case management schedule, etc.) Provide clinical expertise, oversight, initiative, and leadership on a daily basis, including the supervision of associate Therapist as needed Step in for key positions (e.g. Program Directors/Managers, Therapists, Group Facilitators) and take on a caseload whenever necessary Qualifications and skills: License/Credentials: LMFT, LPCC, LCSW, or functional equivalent (required) Education: Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Psychology) Experience: 3+ years of mental health experience and 1+ year(s) of management experience (required) Additional: Valid CA Driver's License, Current Health Screen / Physical, TB Test Clearance, Current CPR/First Aid certificate, Able to Pass Live Scan (required) Key qualities: Blend of clinical expertise and business administration skills Strong sense of ownership and accountability Compassion for clients and employees in all interactions Emotional stability under pressure Exceptional leadership skills and execution capabilities Akua Behavioral Health is California's leading mental health and substance abuse treatment center.
