Job Description:
The Configuration Management & Document Control Lead is responsible for evaluating and enhancing current CM and document control processes. This role focuses on identifying gaps, mitigating compliance risks, and implementing standardized, automated workflows in alignment with industry standards. The role also involves collaboration across multiple departments, training stakeholders, and optimizing tools and systems to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. Responsibilities:
Evaluate existing configuration management and document control processes Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and compliance risks. Develop and implement improvement strategies based on industry standards (e.g., ISO, AS9100, CMMI). Lead standardization and automation of document control workflows. Ensure timely review, approval, distribution, and archival of controlled documents. Maintain compliance with regulatory and customer requirements. Collaborate with engineering, quality, IT, and operations teams. Provide training and support on new processes and tools. Act as a subject matter expert in CM and document control best practices. Evaluate and recommend tools (e.g., PLM, PDM, DMS) for process support. Define KPIs to measure process effectiveness and compliance. Provide regular reports to leadership on progress and performance. Skills:
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar standards. Experience with PLM/PDM systems such as Windchill, Teamcenter, Arena, or Agile. Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies. Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills. Qualification And Education:
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Quality, Business, or related field. 5+ years of experience in configuration management and document control. Proven experience leading process improvement initiatives.
