Overview
A national industrial contractor is seeking a highly experienced and driven
Traveling Superintendent
to oversee complex field operations across long-term construction projects in the manufacturing and food processing industries. This is a
long-term traveling position
ideally suited to individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy leading crews on-site, and bring deep knowledge of mechanical systems and subcontractor coordination.
This role is ideal for a
road warrior
Superintendent who has risen through the trades (pipefitting, welding, mechanical systems) and is ready to lead multidisciplinary teams across multiple states.
Key Responsibilities Provide
on-site leadership
for all phases of assigned industrial projects. Supervise internal trade teams and external subcontractors (HVAC, Electrical, etc.). Coordinate project schedules, manpower, and materials for maximum productivity and safety. Interpret and enforce engineering drawings, specs, and quality expectations. Maintain a safe and OSHA-compliant work environment. Act as a liaison between project management, vendors, clients, and on-site personnel. Handle field purchasing of materials, ensuring proper inventory and availability. Oversee demolition, installation, and commissioning of machinery and mechanical systems. Required Qualifications
10+ years' experience
in industrial construction with supervisory responsibilities. Prior experience with
food processing or industrial machinery
is strongly preferred. Proficient in
piping, boiler systems, HVAC, welding, and electrical coordination . Strong hands-on knowledge and ability to step in and perform tasks if needed. Demonstrated ability to lead teams of both internal tradespeople and subcontractors. Experience using
Fieldwire ,
Procore , and internal project tracking systems. Willingness to work extended hours and weekends (Monday-Saturday, 60-hour weeks). Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites for extended durations.
