Job Description
Performs general warehouse activities. This work includes receiving, storing, issuing, delivering, picking up, and shipping of diversified supplies. Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns within or outside normal working hours. Must be able to work shift work, weekends, and holidays. Duties also include driving a delivery van, forklift, gator and/or a pick up truck.
Responsibilities
Unloads and unpacks incoming materials, supplies, and equipment. Checks, sorts, labels, and stores incoming supplies and materials in appropriate storage area, when necessary. Drives delivery van, forklift, gator and/or pick up truck for on and off campus deliveries.
Fills orders from requisitions and CMMS work orders.
Assembles orders, wraps, boxes, crates, marks, stencils, and otherwise prepares outgoing shipments.
Loads materials, supplies, tools, and equipment on trucks and cars.
Delivers and receives supply items. Obtains authorized signature on order acknowledging receipt of delivered goods.
Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of storage and production areas.
Sweeps, mops, dusts, sprays, etc., as needed.
Empties trash containers and disposes of rubbish.
During winter season, is responsible for snow removal of the dock and assigned areas.
May perform routine filing and clerical duties.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
Worker is subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions. Worker is exposed to dust and cleaning solvents. Must be able to work shift work, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Work is heavy in nature and involves exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds frequently. Work also involves lifting, grasping, stooping, climbing stairs, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and driving equipment.
Qualifications
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent
Experience:
One year warehouse, five years driving experience.
Licensing:
Valid Illinois Drivers License, Forklift Certification
