The individual will join our Centrotherm Manufacturing Team reporting to our shift supervisor. The ideal candidate is responsible for fabricating components of our InnoFlue line of polypropylene vent system components. In this role, the candidate will be operating our extrusion lines and working closely with the extrusion team. This position is on our first shift, 7:00 am to 7:30 pm Monday - Wednesday / 7:00 am to 7:30 pm Monday -Thursday rotating between.Job duties:Execute daily handoffs to the day shift by communicating production rates and operational statusLead 2nd shift team utilizing the UCG quality principles including an emphasis on continuous improvementDistribute and monitor work orders to team membersMaintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment following the principles of 5SSafely operate production equipment/build product per work instructionsImpart quality into every part through attention to detail and execution of in-process control planComplete daily/weekly preventative maintenance of assigned equipmentEnsure efficient use of time and equipment, ensuring that the appropriate records are maintained and that tight inventory control and security are maintainedEnsure that manufacturing transactions are accurately entered into our MRP SystemAssist in continuous improvementPerform other duties, projects, and assignments as needed RequirementsJob Requirements:Commitment to workplace safetyA high school degree is required. An associate's degree is preferred2-5 years of one of the following skills are strongly preferred:Operation of extrusion equipmentOperation of blow molding, thermal forming, injection molding, or extrusion equipmentPlastic or metal welding and fabrication certificationCandidates with operator experience outside of plastics will be consideredTraining will be providedExperience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word is requiredCustomer Focus - achieving Company, department, and personal goals through a strong customer focus.Must have attention to detail for continuous mental and visual attentionMust be a good communicator and self-motivated. Must be able to follow verbal and written communications/directionsA forklift license is a plusPhysical Requirements:Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hearRegularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlOccasionally required to sit and climb or balanceSpecific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
