Software Engineer
ClearanceJobs' client is seeking a Software Engineer to work on-site in Mesa, AZ supporting Air National Guard F-16 simulator technology. The individual's primary responsibility will be to design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems that support the F-16 Mission Tactics Trainer simulators, especially related to the F-16 MTT Operational Flight Program (OFP) and Center Display Unit (CFU). This involves conducting multidisciplinary research and collaborating with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for F-16 MTT simulator software. An active DOD Secret Clearance with ability to upgrade to Special Access Program and Information Assurance Training (IAT) Level 2 Certification (ex. CompTIA Security+) is required. Responsibilities
Develop software using C, C#, or C++ Develop software for VxWorks Implement and support APIs between internal and external system components Apply Agile Software Development Lifecycle methodologies and processes Utilize debugging and analysis tools Prepare and present findings and recommendations to organization leadership Other duties as assigned Required
5+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8+ years relevant experience without a degree is acceptable. Active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to upgrade to Special Access Program / Special Access Required (SAP/SAR). Information Assurance Training (IAT) Level 2 Certification (ex. CompTIA Security+) Experience with distributed simulation software applications, scheduling tools and environment generator applications. Experience developing software that produces and consumes distributed simulation protocols (e.g., DIS, HLA) Experience developing real-time simulation software. Effective written and oral communication skills Excellent time management skills Experience researching new technologies to help solve existing technical problems or shortfalls Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and/or ladders into a simulator or airplane cockpit Must be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top or under simulators Must be able to distinguish colors Desired
Experience with tools such as Test Complete, QTP, Selenium, JIRA, Jenkins or GitLab. Experience in the DoD simulator community. Experience supporting SAP efforts.
