Systems Administrator
Our client is seeking a Systems Administrator to support a DoD client in Norco, California. This role will work under the guidance of the Senior Systems Administrator and collaborate with cybersecurity professionals, program analysts, and fellow system administrators in a dynamic, agile environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in system administration, scripting, and cybersecurity compliance within a DoD or federal IT setting. Key responsibilities include administering and supporting daily operations of computer network systems including workstations, file servers, and web servers; installing and maintaining hardware, software, system upgrades, and network security tools; troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues across Windows and Linux/Unix platforms; developing and maintaining scripts or small applications to automate system tasks and support operational needs; monitoring system performance, availability, and security compliance; collaborating with the ISSO to ensure systems meet cybersecurity and accreditation requirements; providing Tier II support for escalated service tickets and participating in incident response and change control processes; maintaining documentation for system configurations, procedures, and code; supporting integration of new technologies into classified and unclassified environments; and ensuring compliance with Cyber Workforce directives and maintaining required certifications. Required qualifications include U.S. citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred); high school diploma or GED with 3+ years of relevant experience, or a bachelors or masters degree in a related field; 35 years of experience in system administration or software programming in a DoD or federal IT environment; proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language; experience with Windows and Linux/Unix OS, virtualization platforms, and system monitoring tools; familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, STIGs, RMF, and DoD IA policies; understanding of version control systems and basic SDLC practices; strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills; and meeting DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce IAT Level II requirements.
