Senior Software Test Engineer
ProSidian Consulting is looking for a Senior Software Test Engineer in CONUS/OCONUS - Olympia, WA and Tumwater, WA to support an engagement for an Agency dedicated to the safety, health and security of 2.5 million workers and helping employers meet safety and health standards. The Washington State Department Of Labor And Industries is similar to a large insurance company, providing medical and limited wage-replacement coverage to workers who suffer job-related injuries and illness. The Agency's rules and enforcement programs help ensure workers are paid what they are owed, that children's and teens' work hours limited, and consumers are protected from unsound building practices. Key functions include: Protecting the health and safety of workers | Ensuring medical care and financial help for injured workers | Protecting workers' wages, hours, breaks and more | Protecting the public from unsafe work and economic hardship. The ProSidian Team works to provide expert level Information Technology (IT) Quality Assurance (QA) consulting services supporting a full cross-agency "business transformation" initiatives intended to achieve the mission of keeping citizens in the state safe and working. The business transformation (BT) calls for modernizing the agency's extensive technology infrastructure and corresponding business processes over several years. The client is starting with people and processes ensuring the best way to do business and collectively understand business priorities and customers' expectations. Then, they will invest in new technology to support those process improvements and achieve stated goals and objectives. Navigating the agency's technology maze is challenging for its employees. It complicates the training process and makes it difficult for them to deliver high-quality, effective service to their customers. Many applications are independent and don't communicate information between each other. Over the next several years, L&I will modernize technology across the Dept., which will take place in phases. Key focus areas shall be The current workers' compensation system; L&I's Insurance System (LINIIS) is an application comprised of many sub- systems and used to process and manage workers' compensation claims; Organized Information Online (ORION) is an integrated document management (IDM) and business process management (BPM) workflow application where the work is managed; Early Claims Solutions (ECS) is an application used by both claims and employer services staff; Independent Medical Examination (IME) application; Medical Information Payment System (MIPS); Benefit Payment System (BPS), and Pension Payment System (PPS); and VOC-LINK is an application for private vocational rehabilitation providers. Senior Software Test Engineer Candidates shall work to support requirements for Program Support and Leads small work teams or phases of complex projects, implements designs and functional specifications and negotiates with and influences other work teams in solutions development. Determines and delegates tasks appropriately. Manages multiple and competing priorities and tasks within work team. Completes complex tasks with minimal guidance. Defines, monitors, and maintains project plans. Assists with identifying and estimating project resources and schedules. Proactively identifies and recommends improvements to the testing process. Improves efficiencies and reduces costs through adherence and enhancements to project management methodologies, if established for the work team. Possesses 5+ years software testing experience; proficient knowledge of general testing tools and technology used; proficient knowledge of automated testing tools; proficient knowledge of the standards and practices for SQA and CMMi; and the ability to solve complex, analytical problems independently. Bachelor's degree preferred. The Senior Software Test Engineer shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years, Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/Power point) and related tools and technology required for the position. Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. The candidate shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined. A bachelor's degree is required with at least three years work experience in accounting, budget execution, IT, financial system requirements and analysis, financial planning and reporting, auditing, and internal financial controls. TRAVEL: Travel as coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in advance, is allowed, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.
