Job Summary: Painter specializing in restoration, responsible for expertly preparing and painting surfaces to repair and renew residential and commercial properties damaged by fire, water, mold, or general wear. This role requires precise color matching, application of specialized paints and coatings, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure durable and aesthetically accurate finishes. The Painter works closely with restoration teams to meet project timelines and quality standards, helping bring properties back to their original or improved condition.
Responsibilities:
Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and repairing damaged areas. Apply primers, paints, stains, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment. Match and mix colors to restore original finishes or achieve desired aesthetic outcomes. Remove old paint, wallpaper, and other materials as needed for restoration projects. Work closely with restoration specialists, contractors, and clients to ensure quality standards and timelines are met. Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) during all stages of painting and restoration. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner. Identify and report any additional repairs or issues related to surfaces prior to painting. Adhere to environmental guidelines for disposal of paint materials and solvents. Qualifications:
Proven experience as a painter, preferably in the restoration or construction industry. Strong knowledge of paint types, coatings, and restoration techniques. Ability to accurately match colors and finishes. Skilled in surface preparation and repair methods. Familiarity with safety standards and hazardous materials handling. Physical ability to perform manual labor, including climbing ladders and working in confined spaces. Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. Good communication and teamwork skills. Preferred:
Certification or training in restoration painting or related trades. Experience working on fire, water, or mold restoration projects. Working Conditions:
Work may take place indoors or outdoors in various weather conditions. Must be able to work on ladders, scaffolding, and in tight or elevated spaces. May require overtime or weekend work depending on project demands. Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods. Capacity to lift and carry materials and equipment up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working at heights and in confined or awkward spaces. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for detailed painting tasks. The ability to tolerate exposure to paint fumes, dust, and other environmental conditions common to restoration sites. Additional Requirements:
Must provide your own transportation and tools necessary to perform the job. (Gas card and monthly car allowance are provided to offset transportation costs.) Valid Driving License and pass MVR check Must be able to pass a background check Must be able to pass a drug screen Salary:
$20.00-25.00 plus overtime and on-call bonus
